mt. hood elopement shoot with calligraphed vows: natalie & dalton

what a cute couple, right? and just catch a bit of that sun - sheesh! this shoot is one for the books. i was lucky enough to write custom vows for this cute couple, natalie & dalton, for this styled elopement shoot. i loved using paper that had deckled edges for the vows, as it adds a more personal, handmade element into the mix. i styled their vows in my signature, loose calligraphy style and i think it pairs nicely with the whole shoot. i love writing vows so much, it let me see the heart of the couple - it’s kind of like doing taxes (haha, who thought that i would ever compare wedding stationery to taxes?), but you get to see all these details that are typically private right out of the gate. it’s kind of weird at first, but it’s such a privilege to see other’s love up close & personal.

lindsay (lindsay newton photography) & joni (joni loraine photography) are two salem- based photographers who organized this shoot-out for photographers. i love the boho vibe that this shoot has. natalie’s blue tulle skirt is what my dreams are made of, and i want my own to frolick around in the snow too! the bouquet fits right in with that same tone, i love the whimsy-ness it brings (that’s a word, right?). all in all, this cute couple makes the whole scene look sooo warm (especially with the hot cocoa!) when i am sure they were freeezing! and that’s when you know that love is the only thing keeping you warm, and that the love is real.

and i especially like the smoke bomb at the end! i love me some good colored smoke bombs, but i loved how they kept it classy with the white smoke. it just looks so good with the snow! enjoy these pictures are the sun finally looks like it is here to stay (fingers crossed!). i’m probably going to be missing these snow days once we’re in the blistering heat of summer, haha - cheers!
